About This Policy
Scanzo is a sports card identification and collection management application. This Policy explains how information moves through Scanzo: what may be processed when you capture or import a card image, obtain AI results, save your collection, or contact us; how that information is used, stored, and shared; and the controls available to you. In this Policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Scanzo.
By installing or continuing to use Scanzo, you acknowledge the processing activities described in this Policy. If you do not accept these arrangements, please do not use the application.
Card images generally do not contain personal information. However, images and related metadata may be associated with device or usage records. We therefore apply safeguards such as encryption, permission restrictions, and access controls as described in this Policy.
Card Images and Permissions
When you use the identification feature, Scanzo processes sports card images captured with your camera or selected from your photo library. The system may extract details such as the card's year, series, player name, and type.
To perform these actions, the application may request:
You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. This does not affect features that do not require those permissions, but related functions, such as capturing or importing images, may become unavailable.
Device and Usage Data
To operate the services and understand product performance, the system may automatically record:
We process information only as needed for defined purposes, primarily to:
Unless permitted by law or separately authorized by you, information will not be used for activities incompatible with these purposes. We follow data minimization principles and do not collect information without limit simply because it might be useful.
When you request identification, artificial intelligence and machine learning systems automatically analyze the image. This processing is limited to recognizing sports card attributes and generating market value estimates. It is not used for facial recognition, identifying individuals, or inferring sensitive personal attributes.
Estimates may rely on aggregated third-party market data, historical sales records, and algorithmic analysis. As markets and available data change, results may differ from actual transaction prices and may change over time. They are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, investment, professional appraisal, brokerage, or trading advice. Scanzo does not provide investment, brokerage, or trading services. You are responsible for deciding how to use these results.
We do not sell your personal information. Necessary transfers or disclosures may occur in the following circumstances:
AI Service Providers
Card images are temporarily sent to third-party AI providers for processing. Providers may access the data only to perform the services entrusted to them, must apply agreed safeguards, and must not change the purpose of processing without authorization.
Other Service Providers
Partners providing analytics, advertising, or other technical capabilities may access limited data as necessary to carry out specific tasks. We require them to process information only in accordance with our instructions.
Legal Obligations
We may disclose relevant information as required by applicable laws, regulations, regulatory authorities, or valid judicial processes.
Business Transfers
If Scanzo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer, relevant information may be transferred with the business after obtaining your consent. We will notify you at least two weeks in advance of such arrangements.
Card Images
Original images sent to third-party AI servers are used only for identification and valuation. They will be deleted as soon as technically feasible in accordance with the provider's data retention rules. We do not keep these images on servers for advertising, marketing, or resale.
Local Data
Identified card information, your organized collections, and application settings are stored locally on your device. You can delete individual records or your entire collection within Scanzo. Uninstalling the application removes the local data associated with Scanzo. This deletion cannot be reversed.
Usage and Diagnostic Data
To maintain and improve the product, we may retain usage and diagnostic data that does not identify a specific individual or has been anonymized for a limited period, and delete it periodically. You may contact us to request earlier deletion, except where continued retention is required by law.
You can manage relevant information through the application interface, device settings, or our contact email. Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
For requests you cannot complete directly on your device, contact us at the email address below. We will carry out any necessary identity verification and respond promptly in accordance with applicable law. If you believe your privacy rights have been infringed, you may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
Children's Privacy
Scanzo is not intended for children under 13. If local law establishes a higher minimum age, that age applies. We do not knowingly collect information from children below the applicable age. If you discover that a child may have submitted personal information, please contact us so that we can take steps to delete it.
Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the processing risks, including transmission safeguards, access controls, and permission management, to reduce unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of network transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. You should also protect your device and related information.
